Apple is good… They are trying soo hard to make Jailbreaking illegal, that they are making things up! They have submitted a letter to the US Copyright Offices indicating that when you jailbreak your iPhone, you are changing the ECID (Exclusive Chip ID) which can allow you too hack the AT&T towers, make anonymous calls, and even perform ‘denial of service attacks’ on the AT&T network to bring it down as a whole.
For one, it takes not just jailbreaking, but ECID hacking, in order to change your ECID. Something the average jailbreaker will not do (as the process is quite complicated, and since the average iPhone user doesnt even know what an ECID is)
Two, a ‘denial of service attack’ can be done on a cell tower from a handful of devices, including now, a jailbroken/ecid hacked iphone. Jamming a cell tower using this technique would not bring down the cell tower, but at best, bring down devices within range of the jamming device. (little to no effect on the ATT network as a whole)
Three, they claim changing the ECID can cause people to make anonymous calls. Calls are tracked and charged via the SIM, not ECID. ECID is simply a chip ID used by Apple to keep numbers and prevent users from downgrading firmware versions.
The sad part is, the US Copyright Office will probably think these facts are true, when they meet later this year to make the call…
I love propaganda!! So entertaining.

coming soon!
